Amanda qualified as a solicitor in 2011 after completing her training contract with Sloan Plumb Wood LLP and now assists Nick Plumb in the Commercial Property department at SPW.

Amanda has experience in dealing with a wide range of property matters, including residential and commercial property transactions acting for both individuals and companies.

Amanda acts for both landlords and tenants of commercial premises, including drafting and negotiating leases and licences of a variety of properties from high street shops and offices to industrial units. She also provides advice in relation to the acquisition and disposal of freehold properties.

The “Patent Box” – tax changes to promote innovation

As from 1 April 2013 changes to the corporation tax regime come into effect designed to promote innovation through the use of the patent system. From that date companies will be able to apply to have profits attributable to “qualifying intellectual property” taxed at the rate of 10% compared with the current rate of 24%.
