Nominet resolves its 10,000th Domain Name Dispute

31-10-2014 10:04

Nominet, the internet registry which manages .uk domain names, has resolved its 10,000th case.  The complainant was Aston Merrygold from band JLS.

The domain name astommerrygold.co.uk was registered the day after the X Factor Final in 2008 (where JLS came second) by an individual without Mr Merrygold’s consent.  The Dispute Resolution Service at Nominet upheld the complaint and ordered that the name was handed over to Mr Merrygold.
