      <title>Consultation on Copyright in 2012</title>
      <description><![CDATA[<p>As regular readers will recall, in November 2010, David Cameron commissioned an independent review of the UK’s Intellectual Property framework and the review panel, led by Professor Ian Hargreaves, published the findings of its review in May 2010.&nbsp; In August 2011 the Government accepted all 10 recommendations detailed in the review.&nbsp; On 14 December 2011, the Government announced a consultation setting out how it planned to tackle some of the specific issues concerning copyright.</p>]]></description>

      <title>Stairway to an Overriding Interest</title>
      <description><![CDATA[<p>The Claimant in the case of <em>Chaudhary v Yauvuz</em> had built an external stairway in the alleyway which belonged to his neighbour and had in fact removed the internal stairway at his property. A formal deed of easement, which would have granted rights of access over the alleyway, was not entered into and the Claimant took no further action to protect the right to access over the neighbour’s alleyway to the stairway. </p>]]></description>
