John-Paul has specialised in commercial work, including commercial property, since qualifying as a solicitor in 2007 at Greenwoods Solicitors LLP.

He advises a variety of principally small and medium-sized business on matters ranging from business purchases and sales, to licensing and distribution agreements and terms and conditions of sale and supply.

His clients include professional firms, wholesalers, manufacturers and owner-managed businesses in a number of sectors.

On the property side John-Paul acts for investors, developers, commercial landlords and tenants in all aspects of property transactions and issues.

The “Patent Box” – tax changes to promote innovation

As from 1 April 2013 changes to the corporation tax regime come into effect designed to promote innovation through the use of the patent system. From that date companies will be able to apply to have profits attributable to “qualifying intellectual property” taxed at the rate of 10% compared with the current rate of 24%.
