Government Consultation on possible “fast track” for Trade Mark Applications
27-02-2014 10:00
The Government has launched a consultation on the reintroduction of a “fast track” trade mark application system.
A fast track examination process, upon payment of a premium, when applying for a trade mark was introduced in 2008 but suspended in 2009 due to a low take up, amongst other reasons.
The Government is now asking whether users of the IPO and the trade mark system would want a fast track procedure to be reintroduced. To find out more about the proposal and the rationale behind it, please see the Government press release: www.gov.uk/government/consultations/fast-track-examination-of-trade-marks
