Intellectual Property: Did you know…?

Did you know that even if you do not have registered protection for a design, a 3D design may still have protection in the form of unregistered design right?

UDR is an intellectual property right which subsists in “the design of any aspect of the shape or configuration (whether internal or external) of the whole or part of an article”  UDR protects the appearance of purely functional 3D designs, for example a tool.  It does not matter what the article made to the design does; it is what the article looks like.
