Intellectual Property Office Consultation on Artist’s Resale Right
The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) wants your views on the Artist’s Resale Right (ARR).
The ARR, which was introduced in this country in 2006 following a change in European Law, allows the author of an original work of art to a payment each time the work is resold through an auction house or art professional. The right lasts for the period of copyright protection (i.e. 70 years plus life of the artist).
