01-07-2013 14:31

As we reported in January 2012, the Intellectual Property Office (the IPO) was looking for comments in respect of certain recommendations that the law relating to exceptions for copyright infringement be changed.

The IPO has received those comments and draft legislation has been prepared.  The IPO is now looking for comments on the draft legislation by 17 July 2013 and is holding open meetings to discuss the draft legislation in the week of 8 July 2013.

For those of you who are interested or who would like to find out more about the open meetings, please see the IPO press release dated 7 June 2013: http://www.ipo.gov.uk/types/hargreaves/hargreaves-copyright/hargreaves-copyright-techreview.htm

If you would like to discuss any aspect of copyright law, please contact Emma Hayward.
