Minister for Intellectual Property announces new measures for targeting IP crime
On 28 June 2013, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills announced its plans for a new police unit to tackle Intellectual Property crime, such as counterfeiting and piracy.
The Intellectual Property Office is to provide funding for the unit, which is due to be set up and run by the City of London Police.
IP crime is thought to cost the UK economy millions of pounds every year and IPR holders should welcome this new unit.
