Nominet seeks comments on new proposal for second level domain registration system
25-07-2013 14:17
Nominet, the body responsible for .uk domain names has announced a proposal for a revised system of registration of second level domain names.
A second level domain name is the part of a domain name which appears to the left of the top level domain. For example in our domain name spw-law.co.uk the .co is the second level domain. As new top level domains are expected in 2014, Nominet has suggested a review of its policy to “keep the namespace competitive”.
The proposal can be found on the Nominet website www.nominet.org.uk/news/latest/proposals-new-policy-second-level-domain-registrations and responses are required by 23 September 2013.
