Nominet seeks comments on new proposal for second level domain registration system

25-07-2013 14:17

Nominet, the body responsible for .uk domain names has announced a proposal for a revised system of registration of second level domain names.

A second level domain name is the part of a domain name which appears to the left of the top level domain.  For example in our domain name the .co is the second level domain. As new top level domains are expected in 2014, Nominet has suggested a review of its policy to “keep the namespace competitive”.

The proposal can be found on the Nominet website and responses are required by 23 September 2013.
