“Superfast” patents ruled out

We previously reported in an earlier blog entry that the Intellectual Property Office (the IPO) was looking for views on proposals for a superfast patent application process.

The IPO has announced that it will not be pursuing this option now as there was not very much interest in the scheme and some of the responses revealed that there was concern about the quality of patents that would be produced as a result of the process.
